With baize sides, and a flamboyant feather and wool plume, this hood has the hallmarks of the traditional Dutch hood, which has been used for centuries in Europe and was epitomised by those supplied by the Mollen family of Valkenswaard. There are some differences, however, in that the plume construction is more practical, the hood weighs half as much as the original Mollen ones, and this hood actually fits!
In times past, game hawks were furnished with red baize sides, rook hawks with green and heron hawks with blue, and we offer all three colours in a variety of sizes.
The sizes we can supply range from lanneret up to large gyrfalcon, and you can choose kangaroo or Goretex braces.
PLEASE NOTE Although we have a large number in stock, NOT all sizes and colours are in stock at any one time. Any hoods not in stock will take 3-4 weeks to be made.
When ordering, please state species, sex and flying weight (if possible), and your choice of leather or Goretex braces.
